Last summer, our Executive Director Kinson decided to move on to the next phase of his career. After all his hard work, we thought it would be nice to acknowledge his five years of service leading our team by delivering a water project in his name.
We put out an ask to our network and received an outpouring of support from our Water Ambassadors family who donated enough to cover the cost of a clean water project in Guatemala.
We recently received an update from our partner in Guatemala, Jaime Torres, that the new well has been drilled and an electric submersible pump has been installed in the community of Colonia Santa Lucia, La Gomera Escuintla. The community is near the Pacific Coast and is home to around 200 families or about 1,000 people.
Every person who supported Kinson’s Water Project has helped deliver this new 60 metre deep well that can produce 150 gallons of fresh cool drinking water per minute. The community is overjoyed and so are we!
The best news of all is that because of the generosity of our donor community, there’s still some money left over to help deliver clean water to other communities in need. We’ll apply the balance of the donated funds from Kinson’s Water Project to ongoing well maintenance and other projects.
Thank you all for stepping up to help make Kinson’s Water Project such a success!
